Mini Bodegas...

My good friend and fellow pilot scum, Chuck Walters, met me in San Jose and has been a big help in showing us around, and getting our motorcycles into storage. Here´s a final photo of our trusty steeds. All of the motorcycles made it in one piece to San Jose. Even more important, all of us gringos made it in one piece as well.

Pura Vida!

San Jose - The Capitol of Costa Rica...

San Jose is as far as we´re going to get on the first segment of this muti-year adventure. I´ve run out of time to make it to my original destination of Panama City, but San Jose works just fine for now...

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance...

I made it to San Jose and found a great motorcycle repair shop a block away from my hotel.
I had my motorcycle serviced by La Moto AG for the next leg of this continuing adventure.
Here´s a link for all you adventure riders out there: http://www.lamotocr.com

Riding In The Clouds...

I was trying to make San Jose by dark, so I pressed on past La Fortuna and entered the cloud forest at dusk. Look closely and you´ll see a bicyclist in my lane about 50 feet in front of me. The visibility was really good here, but it went to zero a little further up the road.

Time For The Rain Gear...

For only the second time in over 4,500 miles and 25 days of riding, I put on my rain gear. Lake Arenal is a beautiful lake situated in a lush valley at 1,800´ above sea level. A little rain is OK with me...

Volcan Arenal...

Clouds shroud the top of the Arenal Volcano...

Adventurous Freulein...

Carol Moeller shipped her motorcycle from Germany to South America and has been working her way north to Alaska. She´s presently working as a chef at the German Bakery in Arenal where I stopped for some tasty Sauerbraten mit dumplings...
