I looked to my left, expecting to see JD, and then I saw the ponytail... It was our Canadian friend, Mike. Noel listens and grins as Mike explains how he spent the night at a fleabag hotel and bribed his way past the Costa Rican customs officials at the crack of dawn.<br /><br />Pura Vida, eh!Mr.Dualsporthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00789596987425348107noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2165606756875580168.post-36797722212601004942009-01-28T17:29:00.000-08:002009-01-28T17:32:30.980-08:00Iguanas...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdedBcXlbVXFAj1xwPzXW_XV4BEMz9soO4tCJ2oYOAH3rKinFtoLr3sDWfHhPBgoCwDmXERXuC8BJpdQMT-lLd_TK8h_CXhDRq9qC1Wshxijcbo0qhUJRvsCP_Bw8TSZJ7CieQWACieeKX/s1600-h/DSC01486.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296522476933660210" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdedBcXlbVXFAj1xwPzXW_XV4BEMz9soO4tCJ2oYOAH3rKinFtoLr3sDWfHhPBgoCwDmXERXuC8BJpdQMT-lLd_TK8h_CXhDRq9qC1Wshxijcbo0qhUJRvsCP_Bw8TSZJ7CieQWACieeKX/s320/DSC01486.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div>Mr.Dualsporthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00789596987425348107noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2165606756875580168.post-88928989832082889422009-01-28T17:21:00.000-08:002009-02-01T00:48:47.645-08:00Pura Vida!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio1yTjVaC97XF74jIV5Y3aE0dgpgG6NbNRZ138pu6WXSObjfDN4HpOtJJ7dqveYuU7cX8QlkQfBImZzumB7zUxwWWVnXV6Hibj9BL3_eKPcjp4DU0q6UgO-4zo_GfMsb_bvAw6WdftAwMQ/s1600-h/DSC01472.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296520385232237090" style="margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px; float: right; width: 320px; height: 240px;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio1yTjVaC97XF74jIV5Y3aE0dgpgG6NbNRZ138pu6WXSObjfDN4HpOtJJ7dqveYuU7cX8QlkQfBImZzumB7zUxwWWVnXV6Hibj9BL3_eKPcjp4DU0q6UgO-4zo_GfMsb_bvAw6WdftAwMQ/s320/DSC01472.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>"Pura Vida" is a Costa Rican expression which essentially means "life is good!" Mike has been riding solo from Canada on his Kawasaki KLR650 since mid-December. He lost his license plate on a bumpy road in Nicaragua, and that turned out to be a major problem at the border. Despite Noel's best translation efforts, it seemed hopeless for Mike to get into Costa Rica. Nicaraguan border guides cautioned him not to leave the country until he resolved the problem, but he gambled and tried to <div>follow us into Costa Rica. He was denied entry. In this photo, they are purportedly fumigating my motorcycle so that I don't bring any pests into the next country.
