We got off to a later than expected start, so to save time we crossed the border at Otay Mesa instead of Tecate'. Originally we planned on avoiding the Tijuana area due to the number of drug cartel related shootings of late, but Otay Mesa was an acceptable compromise. We didn't experience any hang ups at the border, and we made it to Ensanada safely before dark. Here, I captured a shot of JD between Rosarita and Ensanada on Highway 1.
