A 4,000 mile ride from California to Panama across every imaginable road surface calls for a reliable motorcycle, and answering that call is my trusty BMW F650 GS. In order to carry multiple riding suits for all kinds of weather, plus spare parts and an emergency sleeping bag, I've added aftermarket paniers (sidebags), plus a tank bag and a tailpack. To deal with the additional weight of the bags when fully loaded, suspension modifications will be required. I've scheduled a stopover at Works Performance Suspension in Canoga Park to handle the necessary enhancements. Finally, my machine will receive fresh tires and fluids prior to crossing the border, which will hopefully withstand the punishment until reaching San Jose, Costa Rica.
